Intermediate Football;

The Intermediate footballers unfortunately like the hurlers find themselves in round 3 of the championship following a 3 point defeat to Aghabullogue on Wednesday night last 27th June.The game was played in very difficult conditions with heavy rain making the Pairc Ui Rinn pitch very slippery and ball handling very difficult.
Our opponents got off to a very quick start and pointed on their first 3 visits up the field,we began however to get a foothold in the game following some positional and tactical changes and proceeded to play some great football to score 1.05 without reply,the goal a well taken penalty by Diarmuid O Sullivan following a foul on himself.Considering the start we made you would think that we would have been satisfied with the 1.06 to 6 pt half time scoreline but we had 2 guilt edged goal scoring chances that were well saved by the Aghabullogue keeper.If we had taken even 1 of those it would have made the second half a different game.
Aghabullogue again like the first half were quick out of the blocks and scored 1.02 in the first 10 minutes of the half to put them ahead a lead they would never relinquish.Despite our best efforts we couldn’t close the gap in fact our only two scores of the second half came from frees.Aghabullogue popped over 3 late points to run out 3 point winners 1.11 to 1.08.This was a disappointing result and it leaves us facing a do or die game against Killavullen with the winners going on to round 4 and the losers facing a relegation final.

Junior Hurling;
The Div 3 hurlers played Erins Own in a league game on Friday night last.This game was due to be played in Caherlag but due to the recent heavy rain in the Glanmire/Glounthaune area the game was switched to Cloyne.
Despite losing on a scoreline of 13pts to 1.04 this was a good performance from our 3rd team(a great achievement in itself) and it was great to see seasoned players we will call them in Moss Cahill and Diarmaid Falvey playing starring roles in defence,and also welcoming back Rob Germyn who played very well in attack.

Senior Hurling League Friday 6th July V Carrigtohill 7.30pm in Cloyne.
