Castlemartyr GAA Notes 11-06-2012
Avon/Imokilly J H L Sec 2
Castlemartyr 3-22 Bride Rovers 4-10
Castlemartyr played their final league game at home to Bride Rovers on Sunday evening and the victory should be enough to see us through to the semi finals. While Castlemartyr will be happy with the score they put up they will be worried about conceding such a score and the manner in which they let Bride Rovers back into the game after controlling the first half. Castlemartyr had a lead of 6 points at half time, but the amazingly the first 3 scores of the second half were Bride Rovers goals which put them into the lead. Castlemartyr settled again after this managed to find the net themselves as the half wore on as goals from Eddie Clifford, Damien McAulliffe and Mark Bowens ensured the victory. Overall it was a patchy performance from Castlemartyr with both positives and negatives to be taken from the game. It will take a much more settled performance if we are to have any chance against a strong Sarsfields team in the first round of the championship on the 20th.
