With a large and strong selection available our second string recorded a good win last Wednesday week. In the first half Lisgoold got off to a lighting start with some quick points by Dave Barry (Man of the Match) and Moss Mulcahy which set the tone for the evening. Lisgoold played a very quick clever brand of football in this first half and fully deserved to raise the first green flag after some trojan work by Brian O'Connell, was rewarded by a cross-field from Dave to Damian Clifford who laid it off to Cian Scannell who in turn passed it to Denis O'Brien for a green flag. This move was typical of the play that our lads were producing, we had a goal from a free disallowed by square ball which was seem legitimate but the referee decision was final.  Seamus Mc Sweeney chipped in a few white flags and with Bill Whelan and Mikey Savage keep up the pressure we were holding well. We continued to be on top but Carrig stormed back with some lovely scores by Chris Casey and great work by Conor Healy ensured they weren't out of it at 1-5 to 0-3 at half time.

The second half Lisgoold went for the jugular as they stormed 3 fantastic goals in 8 minutes, which killed off this contest. Great defence work by Kieran Barry and Paul O'Brien managed to get the ball out to Patrick Connery who sent a lovely pass out to Dave Barry who hit a direct one into Moss. Moss held it and layed it off to a razor-sharp Denis O'Brien who smashed it home. The same trick worked again this time Moss left it off to sub Donal O'Leary who rounded the keeper expertly and applied a very cool finish. In was beginning to look like a rout as another sub Dave O'Sullivan cracked home the pick of the lot for number four. However, Manger Barry Ahern decided to use the squad available and the game just peeped out to a comfortable finish. Although our defence must be disappointed for leaving ion two sloppy goals at the end. Manager Barry Ahern had this to say "It was a great win - we played some lovely football and the passing was superb. We can only hope that we can keep this form going"
Holy Communion

Everyone in the club would like to congratulate all the young boys and girls who celebrated their First Holy Communion in Lisgoold on Saturday. The weather smiled as the youngsters, many already featuring on the playing fields as Young Blues, celebrated their day in style.
