Sun 22nd April Co SFL Div 2 Aghada 2-8Valley Rvs 0-14

Aghada and their visitors ValleyRovers played out an entertaining draw in Rostellan last Sunday.

It was tit for tat all the way with thescoreline the same in both half’s 1-4 to 0-7.

The first half goal came from the boot ofMichael Russell, while the second one came from Cian Fleming. Brendan Crowleyplayed his first full game for a the Club in a while, and its great to see himback to full fitness. The home side held the lead but the Valley rovers boyspointed to level the game which was a fair reflection of the game

Best of luck to all the Cork lads in the league final next Sundaylets hope its four in a row. Also well done to Eoin Healy and Andrew O’Donoghueon their run with the cork U21 footballers it was a pity that we met such agreat Dublinside. 

Thurs 19th April MHL Aghada 2-14 Mayfield0-11

The minors got their campaign off to aflying start with a well deserved win against Mayfield in Cork on Thursday night. Two quick scores fromRyan O Keeffe settled the team down early on before Jake O Donoghue alsopointed. Conor O Driscoll’s great score from centre field, adding to anotherRyan O Keeffe effort ensured that the team was working well. Early catches fromthe exceptional Kane Looney, as well as very impressive work from Robbie Steelekept up the first half momentum in the side.

Another 3 points from the hugely impressiveAaron Stafford was followed by one from the home side before Daniel Creedon, onhis first minor game for the club, put over a fine point before half-time.Aghada led by 0-9 to 0-1 at the break.

In a second half dominated by AaronStafford , who scored another five points, Mayfield began to claw back a fewscores but a goal from Jake O Donoghue, who showed that he can play anywhere,and another well deserved goal from Robbie Steele sealed the win for Aghada.
