BRIDE ROVERS GAA NOTES.

 

Junior Football Championship on Fridaynight.

On this coming Friday night March the23rd we play the first round of the 2012 East Cork Junior FootballChampionship. The game is fixed fir Carrigtwohill, under lights at 7.30pm. Ourfootball form to date has been very patchy. We've been playing in the East CorkJFL Division 2 while our opponents Aghada are competing in Division 1 of the Avondhu Imokilly

Inter Divisional League. Our four game played to date have seenvictories over Castlelyons and Castlemartyr and defeats by Glenville andDungourney. Aghada are Senior in Football so many of the players available tothem for the Junior Side will have played at Senior level last year. They arethe strongest football club in East Cork fielding three teams each weekend withno problem. Our last outing was against Dungourney on Wednesday night weekunder lights in the East Cork League. Dungourney came out on top on a scoreline of 2-06 to 0-08 points. The team and scorers was  as follows : Frank Hogan, Jacob Macak, Brinnie O’ Driscoll, JimO’ Keefe, Jason Pratt, Shane Kearney, Mike Kearney, Sean Ryan, Sean O’Brien(0-02), Steven Boyce, Terry Broderick (0-03), Colm O’ Keefe(0-03), StephenO’ Leary, Alan O’ Keefe, Damien Buckley. Subs Used. Kieran Wolfe and RitchieFoley.

We had a very traumatic participation inthis competition last year so hopefully the lads will be well up for the gameon Friday night. Go for it lads.

 

SENIOR HURLING LEAGUE.

We played our first game in the CoSenior League at the weekend when we were away to the Glen.

After a slow start we came into the gamein a big way in the second half. In the end it finished level, we hit 18 pointsto the Glen's 1  15.

CLUB LOTTO.

The Jackpot for Tuesday March 13th was €7400.The numbers drawn were  13,20,21& 23and there was no winner. The €30 winners were Eily Pyne Rathcormac, Sean CareyMonanig, James Murphy Raheen,  JimMurphy Bartlemy, Liam Barry Rathcormac. The tickets are just €2 each and can bebought in local business outlets and from Club Members. A yearly ticket is alsoavailable for €90.

BRIDE 10.

The Bride Rovers Club is holding a 10 kRoad Race in Rathcormac on Sunday April 22nd. This is part of our ongoingfundraising efforts for Club Development.

Participants can run, jog or walk.Further details next week.


Astro-Turf available to Hire

The astro-turfpitch at Bride Rovers is available for hire by contacting James Bermingham on086 8350741. Pitch is suitable for 5 a side teams and costs €50 per hour with lights.

2012. CLUBMEMBERSHIP.

Membership of the Club for 2012 is nowopen. The Fee for Adult Players is €100, Students €40, Minors €30, OrdinaryClub Membership €50. There is a special reduced Membership Fee of €20 forOAP's. The Membership fees can be paid to any Club Officer.

Best of luck tothe local Shanowen Players with their production of Sive in Rathcormac hallthis coming weekend and the following weekend. To all concerned 'Break a Leg'

SET DANCING.     

  Set Dancing has undergone a huge revival in recent years and it is greatto see so many interested in this pastime. Weekly Classes in Set Dancing havecommenced each Wednesday night in the Rathcormac Inn and all are welcome.

CAR BOOT SALE.

The next Car Boot sale in Rathcormac ison Sunday April the 1st. Club members and supporters are asked to help out withthe running of the Car Boot Sales. If you can give even just an hour it will bevery appreciated. Contact any Club Officer.
