Cobh Junior Footballers

Cobh Junior Footballers maintain momentum in the Imokilly/Avonhu division 1 football league with a draw against East Cork Rivals, Glanmire last Wednesday night. Conditions were difficult for both teams as both Jerseys were of similar color which made successful passing hard to come by. Cobh again had to rely on youth as senior members remain on the treatment table. Emmet O'Hanlon grasped this opportunity with open arms and kicked two great points from distance on the night. Lee Mc Dermott played very well at centre forward and created many opportunities for the surrounding Cobh Forwards. Cobh are now positioned at the higher end of the league table as the focus changes to championship which takes place in two weeks time.

Junior Hurlers

The Cobh Hurlers came up short again as the boys narrowly miss out on victory against Shanballymore in the Imokilly/Avondhu Division 1 Hurling League. Conditions were perfect for hurling but Cobh left the revival too late in order to snatch victory in the end. In the closing stages it looked like Cobh, who scored a winning goal against the same opposition in football, were about to repeat that feat but unfortunately poor discipline left them down in the end. Players to play well for Cobh Included Darren Tallon who worked hard at centre forward scoring two points in the process and Aidan O' Rourke who was lively throughout the game. The Cobh men will now have to work hard in order to keep in touch with the leaders of the league table.
