GAA President to launch Glanmire GAA Strategic Plan

GAA President, Mr. Christy Cooney will officially launch the Glanmire GAA club’s strategic plan on Tuesday March 20th 2012 at 8pm in the Clubhouse at the Pike in Sallybrook.

The strategic plan is the club’s vision for the future. It encompasses items such as the development of the club’s facilities in Sallybrook & Buckleary’s Cross, the club’s communications plan & the club’s fund raising calender. A presentation will be made on the night as to how this plan will alter the overall structures of running the club which now boasts over 800 members amongst vibrant adult, ladies & juvenile sections.

Chairman of Glanmire GAA club Gabriel McCarthy said 'With an ever increasing membership base across all sections of our club, we felt it was imperative to put a concrete and concise plan together to help guide us through the next 5 to 10 years. We feel that the goals in this plan are ambitious yet achievable and our aim is to try and encourage as many of our members as possible to participate in the projects outlined in the plan. There is a huge pool of talent both on and off the field in this club and we hope  to harness that in the true spirit of GAA voluntarism to ensure that the objectives of this plan are followed through to completion.'

Mr. Cooney will be joined by members of the Cork County Board, members of the Glanmire GAA Club executive committee, local politicians, members of the club and the general public. All are  welcome to witness what will be an historic night for the club as      it will be one of Mr. Cooney’s final engagements as the association’s President.

Refreshments will be served after the launch and all are welcome  to join us on what is not only a momentous occasion for Glanmire GAA club but also a huge occasion for Glanmire Parish as a whole.
