Red FM Senior League

The 2012 Red FM Senior Hurling league got under way with a home game against Glen Rovers on Sunday last.
The game was played before a large attendance on a perfect day for hurling.
Unfortunately we were beaten by 4 points 1.16 to 1.12 a disappointing result but a satisfactory performance considering we were without some big players.
The Glen are a formidable team at this time of the year and the game in which we used 5 minors will bring on the team considerably.
Best for Cloyne on the day were Chris Smith, Domhnall O Sullivan, Brian Fleming and goal scorer Conor Cusack.

Unfortunately the Div 3 Hurling game V Watergrasshill which was due to take place on Saturday was postponed.

Congratulations to Paudie and Donal Og who played big parts in Corks exciting 1 point win over Dublin in Croke Park on Sunday last.
This match was watched by the Cloyne U 16 hurling team who had earlier played Ballymun in a challenge match before heading on to Croke Park to cheer on the lads.
Great credit is due to the juvenile club and its mentors for this undertaking and hopefully it will inspire some of the players to make it to this level in the future.
