Glenville GAA news
Friday night Glenville had its first game in the Division 3 Football league. Conditions were very sticky for this game with constant rain over the previous few days not helping matters. Glenville put up a decent show accompanied with some solid individual performances with a number of newcomers making their first Adult appearance.
Even the scoreline showed a 3-7 to 1-5 Carrigtwohill win Glenville were right in the hunt up until the closing moments with a late Carrig scoring burst sealing the win for the away side.

Glenville Junior A side were in action on Sunday in the opening round of the Division 2 league. Played in Carrigtwohill Glenville were significantly understrength for one reason or another but managed to hold their own with the home side. In the end Carrigtwohill held the upper hand with the all important goal scored in the opening minute the difference in the end. Carrigtwohill 1-10 Glenville 0-9.

The opening round in the U16 Football League saw Glenville make the journey to Dungourney to play Kilta Og a winning one. Glenville were in top form for this one and demonstrating a greater appetite for the fray outscored a game Kilta Og side 4-8 without reply in the opening half. The scoring dried up a tad in the second period as Kilta Og become more competitive but the lead was too great to surmount . This was a good start to the year with a good bunch of players hope are high of a good return from this side. Stiffer tests will follow, that’s for sure.

Due to the inclement weather on Saturday the U13 Football game v Aghabullogue was cancelled.

The U21 side had a useful workout against North Cork side Kildorrery in Fouhys on Monday night. Kildorrery were the better side in the opening half. A brace of goals giving them a cushion. Glenville were a lot better on the changeover holding Kildorrery scoreless but eventhough monopolising possession couldn’t find the target regularly enough.. Final score Glenville 0-6 Kildorrery 2-4
