Minor Footballers get season underway.

At Cloyne on Saturday afternoon last our 2012 playing seasongot underway. The opening contest for the year was a County Minor FootballLeague game.  Played in heavy underfootconditions the game was a fairly even affair except on the scoreboard. Cloynehit three wides over the hour while we kicked seven. On the scoring frontCloyne  were 1  6 to o 2 ahead at half time. Amazingly both teams scored a goal and a point inthe second half to leave the home side winners by 2  7 to 1  3. Cian O Connor got our firstpoint while Daren Moore kicked a second from a free. In the second half SeanCotter raised a green flag. David Quinn got our last point. We were short a fewplayers, our minor panel is very tight on numbers so we need every player. Overallit was a good start to the new playing season. We have a very enthusiasticgroup of Minors so we hope to have at least twenty games for these lads. Manyof course will also be playing at u 16, u 21 and Junior Level so hopefully allplayers will get adequate games.
