BRIDE ROVERS GAA CLUB NOTES.

 

FULL STEAM AHEAD FOR 2012.

It's still only the month of January but it's acase of all hands on deck with teams in all grades back training by night andby day. Such a change from this time last year when we were still frozen in andthoughts of hurling and football games were far, far away. We can now reallyfully appreciate the value of having the floodlit, all weather trainingfacility which is invaluable at this time of year. The first Fixture ratifiedfor the 2012 playing season is a Minor Football League game on Saturday weekFebruary 4th, away to Cloyne at 2 o clock.

CLUB LOTTO JACKPOT AT €6000.

Last  week’s draw took place in The Rathcormac Innon Tuesday January 17th  for a jackpotof €5,800. The numbers drawn were 9, 23, 26 & 27 and there was no jackpot winner.

The winners of the five €30 'Lucky Dips’ were;

This week’s draw took  place inO’Coileán’s Bar on Tuesday January 23rd for a jackpot of €6,000. Tickets can bepurchased from Club Members, in local business outlets or online atlocallotto.ie

SENIOR SCOR.

The East Cork Final of the Senior ScorCompetition takes place on Sunday night next January 29th in Lisgoold at 7pm. Unfortunately interest in the ScorCompetition at adult level has waned in recent years. He Bride Rovers Club hopeto have an entry in at least some of the eight competitions on the night.Anyone interested in taking part  should contact Gerard Lane, John Arnoldor Club Runai LiamBarry.

 

MEETINGS.

The next Bride Rovers Club Executive Meeting ison Monday January the 30th. The following night Tuesday January 31st sees thefirst meeting for 2012 of the Cork County Board. The first meeting of the CorkSenior Hurling Clubs League Committee is on Thuirsday January 26th at the SarsPavilion at 7.30pm.

 

VICTORY DINNER.

The Ladies Football and Camogie Club hold theirVictory Dinner in the Vienna Woods Hotel on Saturday next January 28th. 2011was a marvellous season for the girls at all levels. It was only this week thatthis scribe purchased the 2012 Calendar produced by the Ladies Club and it is abeautiful production with fantastic photographs which reflect all aspects ofBride Rovers for last year with hurling, football, ladies football, camogie andthe juvenile sections all well represented.

CLUBSHOP.

With the 2012 Playing Season about to commence thoughts areturning to the great outdoors and the Bride Rovers Club Shop has something foreveryone at very keen prices.  We have a huge range of Stock just in.Jerseys, togs, Socks, Hoodies, Training Shorts, Track Suits, Training Tops,Gear Bags, Polo Shirts, Bottle Green Wind-Sheeters, Green Half Zip Hoodies,Rain Jackets, Beanie Hats and Medal Boards  are all available. Astro-Turfavailable to Hire
The astro-turf pitch at Bride Rovers is available for hire bycontacting James Bermingham on 086 8350741. Pitch is suitable for 5 a sideteams and costs €50 per hour with lights.

2012. CLUBMEMBERSHIP.

Membership of theClub for 2012 is now open. The Fee for Adult Players is €100, Students €40,Ordinary Club Membership €50. There is a special reduced Membership Fee of €20for OAP's. The Membership fees can be paid to any Club Officer.

SET DANCING.        Set Dancing has undergone a hugerevival in recent years and it is great to see so many interested in thispastime. Weekly Classes in Set Dancing have commenced each Wednesday night inthe Rathcormac Inn and all are welcome.
