Aghada GAA Club News

24 January, 2012

With training going well the club is looking forward to matches.
The Minor footballers will open the campaign when on Sat 4th Feb we take on Blarney in Eastern Region Minor A Football League 2 At Rostellan with a 2-00pm throw in.

Our Junior A footballers have opted to enter the Avondhu/Imokilly football league this year. this will mean at lease two trips to Avondhu this spring. The league consists of eight Imokilly and eight Avondhu teams made up in two sections with four teams from each division in each section. Each team will have seven games. The league will commence on Sat 11th Feb.

This meant that the Imokilly leagues had to be rejiged. Aghada are in a 9 team div 3 and that league will now start also on Sat 11th Feb with the following teams taken part St. Catherine's, Aghada, Russell Rovers, Glenbower Rovers, Carrigtwohill, Carraig na bhFear, Cloyne, Lisgoold, Glenville

Our Senior footballers are out on the 19th Feb when they travel to Bantry Blues for the opening game of the Div 2 campaign. Both B grade hurling and football draws will be made next Wed night.

The Junior A football championship draw was made last Wed night and Aghada drew Bride Rovers in the opening round. With the loser facing either Ballinacurra or Cobh in the losers round.
All U21F C and J F C games will be fixed for Saturday afternoons, unless there is agreement otherwise by the clubs involved - this is to facilitate the playing of league games on Sundays.
