Glenville took on Dohenys in the round 3 of the Division 1 of the Kelleher Shield in Coachford last Saturday evening. Glenville were always going to be up against it with a number of players out through injury. It was Dohenys who dominated from the dtart and were ahead by 4 points to nil after the opening 15 mins. Glenville opened there scoring with a point from play by Willie o Leary. Dohenys again tacked on a couple of more points and then goaled to take a commanding lead with 5 mins to play before the break. Kieran Coakley kicked over a free and when Dohenys replied with a point of there own, the west cork men lead 1-08 to 0-02 at the break . Glenville upped there performance in the second half and played some good football during the half. Glenville kicked over a point courtesy of a Kieran Coakley free but Dohenys replied back with a couple of points of there own. Glenville kept battling and but Dohenys kicked there second goal of the game midway through the second half. Glenville tacked over another couple of points and kicked a goal in the final quarter of the game while dohenys also finished the game scoring another two points. This left the final result Glenville 1-05 Dohenys 2-13.

Dick Cahill Tournament

Glenville played CIT in the final of the Dick Cahill Tournament last wednesday night under lights in CIT. After a low scoring first quarter CIT opened the scoring with two ponts. Glenville replied with a point from Richie Cahill and a pointed free from Paudie Cahill. CIT kicked over 3 unanswered points in the last ten mins of the opening half to take a 0-5 to 0-2 advantage at the break. Glenville started the second half the stronger and started to dominate Paudie cahill kicked over a point while minutes later Ger Cahill had another point for Glenville. CIt replied with two points of there own, to restore there 3 point advantage midwat through the second half. Glenville had another point on the board from Kieran Coakley bute Cit kept kicking over points to keep there advantage. Kieran Coalkey scored another 2 points, 1 from a free to reduce the deficit to 2 points but CIT kicked over the last point of the night to run out winners on a scoreline of 0-12 to 0-09. This was a good game of football and a good end to the tournament.
