Junior Hurling League Div III

Lios gCul 1.11

Carrigtwohill 2.15

Whilst most observers ( this one included ) were somewhat out of synch with the referees official tally at the conclusion (many felt Carrig had prevailed by a slender margin ), this proved a very worthwhile outing for our second string on Friday night , where the blue and gold neighbours battled an enjoyable and a very entertaining hours hurling .

The concession of a brace of early goals rocked our very young side , despite the excellence of Andrew O'Donovan and Cathal Cashman in defence . John Cashman was poetry in motion up front , notching a personal return of 1.06 in an all round strong display from placed balls and from open play, whilst the crisp long range execution of Owen O'Sullivan kept the scoreboard ticking throughout a very enjoyable second half where our hosts just held out against our spirited challenge .

Lisgoold had a very easy win over a young Brian Dillons team in Lisgoold last Monday night. We proved to be too strong for them in the end but they never gave up trying. We had 10 players scoring a total of 5-23 and every member of the panel played at least 30 minutes of the game.

We would like to congratulate all the children who received their confirmation on Wednesday and in particular the members of our Under 14 team - hope you all had a great day !

Under 12 League

Lisgoold 7.09

Cloyne 5.00

Led by the superb hat trick hero Liam Chandler who notched a personal tally of 3.02 and the dynamically mobile "box to box" play of Liam Stack ( 0.03) , our U12 hurlers had a fruitful visit to Cloyne on Thursday where a goalfest resulted in a deserved victory for the young blues in what was one of the best games this side has been involved in for many years.

Both teams hurled excellently where the defensive brilliance of Cian Healy drove his side forward and the exquisite point taking of Liam O'Shea were two of the highlights from a wonderful team performance where Sean Whelan and Jason Collins also excelled .
