Our Intermediate hurlers were back in league action on Sunday. They played Mayfield side and while they were always on top, they could not pull away on the scoreboard they had a one point win.

The GAA Injury Benefit Fund is resolved, and Cover is effective from the June 1.6.21 to May 31.5.22. There is a booklet on all the details, and the secretary has now forwarded a soft copy to all players.

Though we hadn't a winning start to the 2021 playing season it was just great to see teams back out on the playing fields last Monday. With teams training for the last few weeks the 'White Flag' was raised.

It was great to get back to action on Saturday evening last when the Intermediate hurlers proved too strong for Kildorrery in the first round of the Red FM 5B hurling league.

Killeagh 0-22 Douglas 1-26 A beautiful and warm Saturday evening set the ways for the opening hurling game of the season. Both teams went hammer and tongs from the opening whistle of Eoin Coleman.

Watergrasshill 1-16, Ballincollig 1-14. Our Intermediates opened their 2021 competitive season with a good win in the league against Ballincollig. Played in a sun-drenched Hill, in very warm conditions.

East Cork Junior B final Glenville 1-08 Aghada 4-11. On a pleasant evening in Lisgoold, Glenville were unable to capture their first Junior B crown since 1997.

A brilliant win for Glenville over a good Cobh side in a cracking game which was a great advertisement for football. This match was held over from last year due to COVID restrictions but it was worth the wait.

Castlelyons Ladies Gaelic Football Club registered in 2020 but due to the pandemic did not get going. However, Croke Park waived the fees, and they are ready for this year. The coaching is for Groups U6 - U12.
